CBD FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hemp?
Hemp, or in this case industrial hemp, is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species that is grown specifically for the industrial uses of its derived products. It is one of the fastest growing plants and was one of the first plants to be spun into usable fiber 10,000 years ago.

What is Phytocannabinoid-Rich Hemp?
This industrial hemp is not like that used to harvest fiber but is specifically bred and cultivated to be a plant high in phytocannabinoids.

Will Hemp Get Me High?
Hemp extract is non-psychoactive because, by law, the plants have 0.3% or less of the cannabinoid THC, which is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis. CBD also counteracts feelings of "being high" from THC from within the body, preventing a "high" experience.

What is Whole-Plant Extract?
A large part of alternative medicine revolves around using the entire plant for medicinal purposes rather than isolating or producing the active ingredient in a laboratory. Whole-plant extracts process the entire plant: stems, leaves, flowers, buds - into a reduced extracted oil.

What is the Entourage Effect?
This phenomenon, called the entourage effect, results when the many components within the cannabis plant interact with the human body to produce a stronger influence than any one of those components alone – it’s a synergistic effect. Isolated components are less effective than when the entourage remains together.

What Does Full Spectrum Mean?
Full Spectrum means that the FULL Spectrum of those cannabinoids remains in the extract, or oil, that has been made by into finished products.

What Does Broad Spectrum Mean?
Broad Spectrum means that the extract has had THC removed, so it no longer represents the "Full Spectrum" of naturally occurring cannabinoids and compounds, and so is called "Broad."

Is Hemp Seed Oil the same as Hemp Extract?
No. Hemp extract is from the WHOLE PLANT, while hemp seed is just from the seed that would grow the plant. While the hemp seed oil may be beneficial for cosmetic or cooking purposes, it doesn't provide the physical benefits and reactions that whole plant hemp extract does.
